NOW ACCEPTING NOMINATIONS FOR THE 40TH ANNUAL “WOMEN OF THE YEAR” COMMEMORATIVE RUBY CELEBRATION GALA
In commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of the Los Angeles County Commission for Women and the 40th Anniversary of the "Women of the Year" Gala, the Los Angeles County Commission for Women will recognize one exceptional leader from each Supervisorial district at our upcoming Women of the Year Gala.
The women selected for this particular category must have a proven track record of advancing women's rights, promoting equity, and/or fighting for social and economic justice. The significant impact and inspiring work these women have done in our community should be recognized and evident. These women should be respected for their advocacy and activism for women's rights. They should be considered role models who exemplify passion, reliability, authenticity, empathy, grace, and compassion.
Nomination Process and Criteria
To qualify for the Exceptional Women Leaders Award, your nominee must reside in Los Angeles County, and you must complete a nomination application. Nominations are open to former Commission members for their current activities and involvement in advocacy for women. Self-nominations are not accepted, and prior recipients are not eligible for this award (visit the LACCW website for the recipient list).

Event proceeds provide funding to promote vital outreach throughout Los Angeles County to fulfill the Commission’s goals of “Educating, Motivating and Inspiring Women,” as well as to fund critical education scholarships.
THE 39TH ANNUAL “WOMEN OF THE YEAR” AWARDS, “WOMEN WHO ADVOCATE FOR EQUITY, DIVERSITY, AND INCLUSION” WAS HELD ON MARCH 18, 2024.
On Monday, March 18, 2024, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, and the Commission for Women held its 39th Annual Women of the Year Awards and Commemorative Celebration, “Women Who Advocate for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion. The event was held at the Sheraton Grand Los Angeles, downtown at 711 S. Hope St., Los Angeles, CA. 90017, in the beautiful California Ballroom.
